pet portraits from Photos Ireland

On this page you will find all the information you need. A good, clear photograph is the most important thing.  If you have several photos, please do email them to me so I can get to know your cat or dog a bit better.  Once I have some photos, I can advise you on the type of portrait I can do for you.  The more detail in the photo, the more detail I can put into the drawing.

Next, you will need to decide on the size of portrait you want. If you are unsure, I can advise you based on the photos you have sent me. I will always do my best to make sure you are completely happy with your portrait.

Pricing

Small Portrait

15 x 21 cm (A5 size, approx. 6 x 8.5 inches)

Suitable for small pets such as kittens or small puppies. Also a good option if you don’t have a good reference photo.

Medium Portrait

€260

24 x 30 cm (9.5 x 12 inches)

This is a lovely size for a portrait of your cat or dog, especially if your photo has lots of clear detail.

Large Portrait

€340

30 x 40 cm (12 x 15.5 inches)

Great size for larger dog breeds or if you would like a dramatic close up of your pet!

Extra Large Portrait

€460

35 x 50 cm (14 x 20 inches)

Ideal for large dog breeds, or portraits of more than one subject (please contact me for quote if you want more than one pet in your portrait).

Please note:

The sizes refer to paper size, with your portrait being a good size within the paper area.  I mainly do pet portraits which focus on the face and chest area.  I think that is the best way to capture all the fine detail in your pet’s face, especially their eyes.

If you want more than one pet in your portrait, please contact me for a quote.

If you would like a different size portrait, or you would prefer a square shape, do get in touch I will be happy to give you a quote.  Postage within the Republic of Ireland is included.  For overseas postage, please contact me for more information.

Some advice on taking a good photo for a pet portrait

Try to take a photo in good daylight.  It doesn’t have to be taken outside, often a photo taken near a window will be great!  Natural daylight will always be the best lighting so I can see the true colours in your pet’s coat.

Ideally, your pet’s face will be in sharp focus, so I can clearly see their eyes and facial features.  That is what will help me create a beautifully realistic portrait for you.

Hi-res digital photo is best

The photo will have to be high resolution, so please, email me the original large size photo, not one that has been resized for social media.  I will need to enlarge the photo and still be able to see the fine detail.

If you are unsure about the photos you have, please do email them to me anyway and I will be happy to have a look and advise you.  I will also do my best to work with the photos you have, especially if your much loved pet has passed and you don’t have ideal photos to work with.
